Excellence and Terroir: Technical Assistance in Tacna

As part of the ‘Proyecto Olivo’ by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture, I had the opportunity to provide technical assistance during the crucial stage of olive oil production.

It all starts in the reception area. This is where the fate of a quality oil is decided: even before entering the milling process, we monitor the health of the fruit. Exceptional oil is only born from healthy fruit, harvested at the right time.

During my visit to Olitambo, I was able to rigorously check the quality of the incoming lots. Every detail counts: temperature, cleanliness, and the homogeneity of the olives. This work is also a human adventure. I was delighted to collaborate with Richard Merino Leon, General Manager of Olitambo.

Exchanging ideas with stakeholders so committed to the olive development of Tacna reinforces my conviction: our region has all the potential to shine on the international stage through controlled processes and shared passion.
